Like all classic entrepreneurial ventures, ours began with an unmeet desire. We searched for refined yet stylish, well-crafted shoes that didn't come with a big-luxury-brand price tag. After exploring the U.S. market, we kept coming up short. Nothing quite matched the impeccable quality or value of the artisan-made footwear we admired in tucked-away leather workshops across Italy. So, we set out to build it ourselves.

We embrace a DTC (direct-to-consumer) model that puts quality and value first. TO US, IT'S PERSONAL

JB Ander began as a creative spark during a moment of professional burnout. After years of building brands in the digital advertising and social space, founder Jason Ander caught himself asking a fundamental question: "What would bring genuine joy to my work life?" The answer was clear. Creating a men's fashion brand that honored his lifelong passion for thoughtful design and exceptional footwear.

With Italian heritage on his mother's side and a father who worked as an architect, Jason grew up appreciating the principles of good design: balance, symmetry, and the beauty of transformation. Witnessing his parents renovate several historic homes from fixer-uppers to design masterpieces instilled in Jason a deep appreciation for the power of transformation—taking something with potential and elevating it to its finest form. These early influences, combined with formative time studying in Florence, Italy, shaped his aesthetic sensibility and set the foundation for what would become JB Ander.

Our shoes are crafted near Venice, Italy in workshops that also produce footwear and fine leather goods for top European fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, YSL, Givenchy, and Dior. The same artisans entrusted by these revered houses meticulously construct every pair of JB Ander shoes, bringing decades of expertise to each stitch, cut, and finish.
